Role overview

The Market Development Rep (MDR) will generate new business through outbound calls and targeted emails to potential clients. The MDR qualifies prospective customers through targeted questions about their business strategy then leveraging this information to align and sell SignEasy. This position spends roughly 80% of the time on the phone prospecting new clients. Market Development Reps will receive hands-on training with an emphasis on strategic selling and a focus on researching targeted accounts. This position is a great way for individuals to gain in-depth experience in a rapidly growing SaaS company.

This role requires enthusiasm, a friendly and professional attitude, and strong verbal and written communication. You will be the first person that a customer talks to, so personality and likeability are a must. If you're a monotone robotic speaker on the phone, this role is not for you. If you can get a grandma excited about electronic signatures, we want to talk to you :) 

Responsibilities

  • Make cold, outbound calls to potential new customers
  • Make outbound calls to prospects who are deemed to reside in one of SignEasy's core vertical markets
  • Share information about SignEasy and ask questions about the prospect's business intentions
  • Discern propensity to buy and forward good potential leads to the Sales Account Executives to pursue
  • Schedule appointments between prospects and Account Executives
  • Record prospect information in the CRM database
  • Be available for phone calls and meetings with customers and team members in other time zones
  • Be the sales specialist to interact via phone and email from 6 pm - 3 am IST (That's 8:30 am - 5:30 pm EST). 

 Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of experience in outbound sales in a SaaS product company with an ability to form strong business relationships
  • Ability to hit goals in a fast-paced sales environment with accurate lead management in a CRM, proven by past experience and results
  • Team player, with a strong self-starter attitude
  • Desire and drive to always be learning
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Confident, positive, friendly, and professional attitude
  • A university degree or relevant tertiary qualification

Assessment

  • Your performance will be evaluated based on how many customers you are able to qualify, the quality of the information you are able to get from them, the quality of your communication with customers and team members, and how many deals you had an impact on. We evaluate your performance based on the results you deliver and the learnings you can share with the rest of our team.
